Services have been scheduled for Paul J. Merges Jr., the Albany man who was struck and killed by a motorist early Saturday while riding his bicycle.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, proceeding to St Pius X Church, 23 Crumite Rd., Loudonville, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.

Merges was the son of Dr. Paul and Barbara Merges. He is survived by his two children, Sean Anthony and Keara Mary.

He graduated from St Pius X School in Loudonville, and Christian Brothers Academy. He also attended St. Bonaventure University. Merges worked for the state Education and Tax & Finance Departments.
