The Cake Boss will be in town Friday to sign copies of his book, frost his name on cakes and perform a live holiday show at Proctors later that evening.
Bartolo “Buddy” Valastro, star of the TLC reality show “Cake Boss,” will make a special appearance Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Mohawk Commons Price Chopper, located at 442 Balltown Road in Niskayuna. Later that evening, Valastro will take to the Proctors stage at 8 p.m. for an interactive performance that involves the master baker’s holiday traditions and stories from Carlo’s Bakery.
Considered by some as the most famous cake artist in the nation, Valastro will also answer questions and bring audience members up on stage for cupcake and cake decorating during the two-hour show. Tickets are $35.75 and $43.75.
During his visit to Price Chopper, Valastro will sign his books — “Cake Boss” and “Cooking Italian with the Cake Boss” — which will be available at a discounted price. He will also sign branded Cake Boss cakes that are available at Price Chopper.
Valastro, born in Hoboken, N.J., is a fourth-generation baker who owns and operates Carlo’s Bakery. The wedding cakes, specialty cakes and pastries he designs have won numerous awards and earned him and his cakes spots in bridal and baking magazines, newspapers, televisions and books.
