Man wanted in Warrensburg home invasion

A man allegedly forced his way into an acquaintance's home this afternoon and threatened the victim

A man forced his way into an acquaintance's home on Saturday afternoon and threatened the victim with a knife before taking prescription drugs and a cellphone, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they are looking for 22-year-old Cameron Joseph Belden, who was identified by the victim as the perpetrator of the crime, which occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on Library Avenue.

The victim said he was advised by Belden not to call police, which is why he took his cellphone. The unidentified victim, who was not injured, called police from the home of a neighbor.

Belden has ties to Warrensburg, Queensbury and the Ticonderoga area, deputies said. He is white, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair in a crewcut.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 743-2500.
