Dayton, ranked No. 16 in the country, made 58.1 percent from the field in the second half and had a big edge in rebounding to beat Siena, 91-53, at the Alumni Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

After taking a 35-21 halftime lead, the Flyers, who improved to 12-0 to match the best start in program history, scored 56 points in the second half, including 15-for-16 from the free throw line.

Dayton had six players in double figures, led by Ally Malott with 19 points.

Clara Sole Anglada scored 17 points for Siena, including 3-for-6 from three-point range, and Lily Grenci scored 10 points.

Dayton outrebounded the Saints, 50-31, and Siena finished the game at 28.6 percent from the field.

The game marked a homecoming of sorts for Dayton head coach Jim Jabir, the Siena head coach from 1987-90.

Siena fell to 3-6 under first-year head coach Ali Jaques, a former assistant to Jabir.

The Saints kept things competitive in the first half, forcing the Flyers into 15 turnovers, and were within shouting distance trailing, 35-21, at the break.

The Flyers opened the second half on a 12-2 run to take a 47-23 lead.

Siena fell to 0-13 all-time against AP Top-25 teams and 0-14 against ESPN/USA Today Top-25 teams.

The Saints return to action Friday when they open a four-game road trip at UMass. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
