Ebone Henry scored 25 points to lead UAlbany to an 87-33 win over the University of Maryland-Baltimore County in the America East Conference women’s opener at the RAC Arena on Wednesday.

The Great Danes improved to 10-3 overall, and the Retrievers fell to 4-10.

UAlbany dominated the first half and led, 39-15.

Henry made six of eight shots and scored 13 in the first half, as the Great Dane made 16 of 31 shots (51.6 percent).

UAlbany ran off 29 straight points during a stretch early in the second half to put the game away.

Megan Craig finished the game with 18 points on 8-for-10 from the field for UAlbany, and Shereesha Richards had 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Great Danes, who have won eight of their last nine, outrebounded UMBC, 55-19, and held UMBC to 1-for-13 from three-point range.

“This was another great team effort,” UAlbany head coach

Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said. “Ebone was really aggressive on offense and defense, and Megan dominated in the second half. We stayed focused on the game plan.”

Lindsey Lowrie added 12 points for the Great Danes, and Raven Harri led UMBC with 11 points.

UAlbany will return to action on Saturday, continuing America East Conference play and wrapping up an eight-game road stretch, visiting Binghamton at 2 p.m.
