Cadets top Patriots, take over third in Big 10

Ralph Erickson scored 24 points, and Elijah Burns added 21 more as LaSalle topped Schenectady, 67-41, in the Big 10 on Friday.

The teams entered in a tie for third in the league.

The Cadets improved to 5-2 in the Big 10 and 5-4 overall. Schen­ectady (4-3, 4-5) was led by Darius Macon’s 16 points.

Daniel Owens scored 24 points to lead Christian Brothers Academy to an 80-41 win over Bishop Maginn. Greig Stire added 12 points, and Tyrell Ramsey chipped in with 10.

Bishop Maginn got 18 points from Demere Hannah.

Javion Ogunyemi led Troy with 24 points in an 80-49 win over Amsterdam. Isaiah Dobere scored 20 in the win, and Dyaire Holt added 18.

The Rams got 13 points from Bob Sherlock.

Catholic Central beat Albany, 68-56, with 19 points apiece from Anthony Mack and Jiriem Tedders. Raiquis Harris added 11 points.

Albany was led by Keneeff Danzy with 19 points and Syeed McPherson with 11.

Vin Simeone scored 20 to help Guilderland hand Shaker its first loss, 58-56, in Suburban Council action.

The Dutchmen (4-2 Suburban Council, 5-3 overall) also got 11 points from Marc DuMoulin and 10 from Connor Burg. The Blue Bison (5-1, 7-1) were led by Andrew Holmes with 16 points and Malik Dare with 12.

Mohonasen’s Grant Massaroni poured in 32 points to lead the Mighty Warriors past Ballston Spa, 50-45. He went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 12 seconds to secure the win.

The Scotties got 19 points from Jeremy Mendrick, while Andre Edgerton scored 14.

Robbie Knightes scored 27 points, and Austin Nydegger turned in 22 points and seven rebounds as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake topped Averill Park, 66-54.

Averill Park got 16 points from Dan VanRoy and 13 from Luke Ziegler.

Columbia beat Niskayuna, 54-50, with 20 points from Kevin Smith. The Silver Warriors (0-6) got 18 from Brent Oliver and 15 from Aaron Gordon.

Saratoga Springs beat Colonie, 61-33, getting 21 points from Noah Arciero and improving to 2-4 in the league and 4-4 overall. Jon Rach added 11 points, and Nick Smith had 10.

Jake Samuels led Colonie with 19 points.

Caleb Stewart’s 18 points led Mekeel Christian Academy to a 71-16 Western Athletic Conference win over Sharon Springs. Ohenio Miller had 13, and both Spencer Bath and Courtney Penson hit for 10 points for the Lions.

Schoharie beat Duanesburg, 45-36, with 12 points and 15 rebounds from Connor Brown. James Sackett added 11 points for the Indians (6-2).

Duanesburg (1-7) was led by Dylan Madison’s nine points.

Garrett Pitcher scored 27 points to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a 79-40 win over Middleburgh. Justin Houck added 12 points, and Tanner Laurie finished with 11.

Middleburgh was paced by Ryan Bechtold with 10 points.

Saratoga Central Catholic beat Mayfield, 52-36, with 16 points from Bryan Hall and 12 from Keegan Murphy. Dylan Toscano led the Panthers with nine points.

St. Johnsville beat Fort Plain, 57-55, in overtime with 22 points from Alex Hart and 18 from Dylan Klock. The Hilltoppers (4-2 WAC, 6-3 overall) got 20 points from Stephen Beldon and 12 from Chris Hanifin.

Watervliet held on to beat Mechanicville, 52-49, in a Colonial Council match-up of state final-four teams. The Red Raiders (0-5, 4-5), semifinalists last year in Class C, got 15 points from Mike Cannizzo and 12 from Nate Hatalsky.

Last year’s Class B state finalist Watervliet forfeited its first five games of the season because of an ineligible player. Jordan Gleason scored 19 points, and Ty’Jon Gilmore added 18 in the team’s first official win of the season (1-7).

Ichabod Crane’s Steve Rybka hit a three-pointer with seven seconds left in overtime to lift the Riders to a 48-45 win over Fonda-Fultonville. He finished with 12 points, Sean Davis scored 16, and both Steven James and Brian Pulsifer had 10.

Will Turner led the Braves with nine points.

Desmond Williams scored 20 points to lead Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk to a 75-68 win over Schalmont. David Warnken added 17 points in the win, and Michael Babcock scored 13.

The Sabres got 22 points from Dominic Caputo, while Devin Murphy (17) and Nick Daversa (11) also hit double digits.

Voorheesville (3-3, 4-4) got 16 points from Dylan Hensel and 15 from Noah Crawford in a 68-58 win over Lansingburgh. Logan Hotaling added 11 in the win, and Zach Presious scored 10.

Lansingburgh (2-2, 4-5) got 21 points from Malik Miller, while Adam Burke scored 12 and Darnell Sutton added 11.

In the Wasaren League, Hoosic Valley’s John Rooney scored 14 in a 43-36 win over Greenwich. Ethan Ross-Hixon added 12 points, and J.T. Sawyer scored 10 for 4-1, 8-1 Hoosic Valley.

The Witches (2-3, 6-3) got 12 points from John Barnes.

Hoosick Falls beat Tamarac, 52-40, with 14 points from Evan Phillips and 10 from Randy Tutunjian to improve to 4-1, 4-3.

Tamarac (2-3, 4-4) got 13 points from Justin Wagner and 10 from Nick Arnold.

Zack Shippee finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as Corinth beat Hadley-Luzerne, 68-40, in the Adirondack League. Zac Lucia chipped in with 15 points, and Robert Shippee had 12 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks for the Tomahawks (5-2 Adirondack, 5-3 overall).

Jesse DeMarsh finished with 11 points for Hadley-Luzerne.

Nick Sapienza scored 19 points for North Warren in an 80-63 win over Warrensburg. Both Anthony Sapienza and Ethan Schenke added 15 points in the win, while Justice Parker scored 12.

Warrensburg was led by Jeff Bentham and Tyler Wilcox, both with 19 points.

Mat Yamin scored 21 points to lead Loudonville Christian School to a 53-31 Central Hudson Valley League win. James Hilton added 12 points, and Gabe Brown had 11 in the win.

Waterford-Halfmoon got 13 points from Josh Orton.

In non-league action, Scotia-Glenville got 32 points from Joe Cremo in a 72-50 win over Cohoes. Andrew Tabbert added 20 points for the Tartans.

Cohoes got 12 points from Brandon Laforest.

Green Tech topped Queensbury, 74-52, with 10 points apiece from Kristopher Clark, Jizziah Carr, Jamil Hood Jr. and Ramion Burt.

The Spartans were led by Charles Peltz’s 22 points.

Albany Academy’s Jack Morrow scored 16 points in a 52-43 win over Collegiate.
