Freshman point guard Tiahana Mills banked home a half-court heave at the buzzer to lift Canisius over Siena, 65-62, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball game before a sellout crowd of 2,196 Friday afternoon at the Koessler Athletic Center.

After Kanika Cummings tied the game for Siena on a driving layup with 3.0 seconds left, Canisius inbounded the ball to Mills, who took two dribbles and released her shot from the right side of the midcourt stripe.

Canisius (1-0 MAAC, 4-8 overall) was paced by Ashley Durham and Ashley Wilkes with 16 points each. Siena (0-1, 4-8) was led by Lily Grenci with 16 points and seven rebounds.
