Police are trying to determine the cause of death for a man found dead Monday afternoon on Summit Avenue.
City workers found the man at about 12:30 p.m. unresponsive in the roadway between Van Voast and Strong streets in the Hamilton Hill neighborhood.
The man was transported to Ellis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police spokesman Lt. Mark McCracken. The cause is unknown. Yellow crime scene tape blocked off that section of the street.
“We’re going to treat it as a crime scene, until we find out whether it was natural causes or not,” he said.
