A man was arrested early Sunday after a caller said he was threatening to “start shooting people,” according to Troy police.
Police were called to the area of the Broadway Brew and Biergarten on Broadway at approximately 3 a.m.
Sgt. Matthew Montanino saw a man matching the description of the suspect, gave chase and took the man into custody.
Officers said they saw the suspect throw a weapon onto a rooftop and were able to recover a loaded, stolen handgun.
Jallah E. McCall, 21, of 115 4th St., was arrested and charged with second-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of stolen property and obstruction of governmental administration. He was arraigned Sunday in Troy Criminal Court.
While police were recovering the gun allegedly used by McCall, shots reportedly rang out nearby, on the block of Second Street between State and Broadway. Officers discovered fresh shell casings and what they said appeared to be a small amount of blood. They searched the area and found a medium caliber, semi-automatic handgun hidden within the wheel well of a parked car.
Police said no injured people have been located and no suspects have been taken into custody in relation to the second gun.
