High schools: Lady Bills chalk up first Foothills victory

Courtney Cirillo scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack as Johnstown defeated Scotia-Glenville,

Courtney Cirillo scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack as Johnstown defeated Scotia-Glenville, 44-40, Monday for its first Foothills Council girls’ basketball win of the season.

Lexi Swatt added eight points for the Lady Bills, who outscored Scotia, 12-4, in the third quarter.

Katelyn Dwyer and Nicole Conley combined for 23 points for the 4-2 Lady Tartans, who fell into a three-way tie for the league lead.

Meresa Mason scored 10 of her 16 points as Glens Falls opened a 10-point lead and went on to beat Queensbury, 55-40. Skylar Girard scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the third quarter for the 4-2 Lady Indians.

Nikari Carota led 4-2 Queensbury with 11 points.

Ellie Gonyeau scored 12 points, and Nicole Sheloski added 10 points and 11 rebounds to lift Hudson Falls past South Glens Falls, 50-45.

Sara Casey added nine points for 3-3 Hudson Falls. Kasey O’Brien scored 12 points, and Sydney Coon added 11 for 4-3 South Glens Falls.

Kylie Manoogian scored nine points, and a balanced Mayfield offense was enough to beat St. Johnsville, 44-42, which got 27 points from Rylie Smith.

The Lady Panthers put six players in the scoring column, all finishing with between six and nine points, as Mayfield went to 3-5 in the Western Athletic Conference.

Macie Holmes dropped in five three-pointers in scoring 26 points as Mekeel Christian Academy topped Argyle, 53-48, in a non-league contest.

Stephanie Rice scored 16 points, and Maddy Kenyon added 10 as Duanesburg downed Coxsackie-Athens, 39-36, in a non-league game. The Lady Eagles are 7-3.

Kendra Pulley scored 11 points, and Hannah Murphy got 10 as Corinth beat Saratoga Central Catholic, 53-17, in another non-league game.

Randy Tutunjian scored 14 points as Hoosick Falls edged Mount Anthony of Bennington, Vt., 46-40, in a boys’ non-league game.
