Ichabod Crane senior Isaiah Turek won the boys’ high jump at 6-9, and Colonie junior Kara Snyder won the girls’ pole vault at 10-6 to highlight Section II performances Saturday at the Yale Invitational.
Turek won by two inches, and his effort ranks third on the all-time Section II record list.
Justin Bopp of Colonie was second in the boys’ pole vault (13-6), Devon Willis of Schalmont ran second in the 55 high hurdles (7.84), and Keishorea Armstrong of Emma Willard tied for second in the high jump (5-3).
Robert Kirsty of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake finished second in the 400 championship race (51.03), and combined with Shamari Ingram, Matt Bunch and Luke Cameron for a fourth in the championship 800 relay (1:33.82).
In girls’ championship relays, Shenendehowa placed second in the 800 (1:47.72) with Julianna Klein, Analise Kirby, Sarah Knowles and Audrey Meany, and Niskayuna placed third in the 3,200 (9:45.46) with Anka Parzych, Mary Kate Moran, Emily DeWald and Felicia Sciortino. Burnt Hills took fourth in the 3,200 relay (9:47.88) with Anastasia Monsen, Dani Martino, Allie Fernandez and Schuyler Pruyn.
