Authorities say they’ve seized about 100 live cats from a Schoharie County home where more than 60 dead felines were found dead.

Local media outlets report that a raid by police and animal welfare organizations found cats living in deplorable conditions at a home in the town of Wright.

Workers at the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley say 67 cats were found dead. The rescued animals have been taken to the shelter.

There was no information on any charges and no names have been released. The Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office is holding a news conference later this morning to discuss the case.
