Patriots top Falcons, move into tie for third

Darius Macon’s 16 points led 10 Patriots in the scoring column as Schenectady beat Albany, 81-46, in a Big 10 game on Friday night which, combined with LaSalle’s 55-49 loss to Christian Brothers Academy, moved the Patriots into a tie with the Cadets for third in the conference.

Schenectady (7-4 Big 10, 7-6 overall) also got 13 rebounds and seven blocked shots from Macon. Randall Symes added 14 points, and Clarence Stanford had 11 in the win.

Albany (2-9, 3-10) was led by Marquan Chandler with 19 points.

The Brothers (11-1, 12-2) got 14 points from Greig Stire and 12 apiece from Drew Brundige and Nathaniel Robinson to remain tied for first in the Big 10 with Troy.

LaSalle (7-4, 7-6) was led by Ralph Erickson with 17 points, while Elijah Burns scored 16.

Troy (11-1, 11-2) beat Catholic Central, 64-38, with 17 points from Jerrell Reid and 14 from Javion Ogunyemi. Catholic Central (5-7, 6-8) was led by Raiquis Harris with 15 points and Brian Brooks with 10.

Amsterdam outscored Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons, 43-24, in the second half to pull out a 65-54 win. The Rams (3-9, 3-10) got 19 points from Luis Laboy, 15 from Rob Sherlock and 14 from Zach Dufel.

Bishop Gibbons (1-11, 1-13) was led by Dwayne Freeman’s 22 points, while Terrell Bell added 10.

Kevin Huerter hit six three-pointers for 18 points in Shenendehowa’s 59-31 Suburban Council win over Averill Park. Dylan Molloy added 12 points for the Plainsmen (8-2, 8-3).

Averill Park (3-8, 5-8) got 11 points from Dan Van Roy.

Columbia’s Jahlil Nails scored 14 points in a 62-47 win over Saratoga Springs. Kevin Smith and Conrad Zampier added 12 points apiece, while Elijah Lott scored 11 for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Streaks were led by Noah Arciero with 16 points.

George Kernochan scored 25 points for Ballston Spa in a 69-39 win over Colonie. Jeremy Mendrick added 20 points for the Scotties, and Andre Edgerton had 10.

Colonie got 16 points from John Ziamandanis and 15 from Jake Samuels.

Ichabod Crane’s Steve James scored 13 points in a 50-44 Colonial Council win over Schalmont. Brian Pulsifer added 11 points and Steve Rybka 10 for the Riders (4-6, 7-6).

Dom Caputo led the Sabres (4-6, 6-8) with 25 points, and Devon Murphy added 12.

Shelton Alston scored 12 of his 26 points during a 21-9 second quarter to help Cohoes beat Voorheesville, 70-61. Brandon LaForest added 17 points for Cohoes (8-1, 8-4), while the Blackbirds (6-3, 7-6) got 23 points from Logan Hotaling and 20 from Dylan Hensel.

Tyler McLeod’s 31 points led Watervliet to a 68-50 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. Jordan Gleason added 18 points in the win.

Ravena got 21 points from Michael Babcock.

Mechanicville beat Cobleskill-Richmondville, 73-49, with the help of 15 points from Paul Vermilyea, who hit five threes. Mike Cannizzo added 14 points, Nate Hatalsky 13 and Nico Dumas 12 for the Red Raiders (3-6, 7-6).

Cobleskill (2-8, 2-11) got 14 points from Brad Koeberle and 13 from Ben Berard.

Lansingburgh’s 52-39 win over Fonda-Fultonville was sparked by Malik Miller’s 19 points and 16 rebounds. Darnell Sutton added 13 for the Knights (5-4, 7-7).

The Braves (2-7, 4-8) got 16 points from Will Turner.

Garrett Pitcher scored 23 points to pace Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a 61-45 Western Athletic Conference win over Middleburgh. The Bulldogs (5-3, 9-5) got 10 apiece from Justin Lee and Tristan Wilson.

Middleburgh was led by John Wrigley’s 18 points.

Caleb Stewart and Oheino Miller both scored 12 points as Mekeel Christian Academy topped Sharon Springs, 62-15. Spencer Bath added 11 points for the Lions (8-0, 11-2).

Marcus Failing scored 12 points, and Zach Sweet added 11 to lead Fort Plain (6-4, 8-5) past Northville, 55-51. The Falcons (3-7, 6-8) got 11 points and 13 rebounds from Tim Monette, while Jason VanNostrand scored 18 points.

Schoharie’s Connor Brown scored 20 points to lead Schoharie past Duanesburg, 55-45.

Duanesburg got 15 points from Sean McGarry and 12 from Kevin Lenehan.

Saratoga Central Catholic (7-3, 8-6) got 12 points from Keagan Murphy in a 58-37 win over St. Johnsville. The Saints got 18 points from Alex Hart.

Canajoharie (10-1, 13-2) got 16 points from Zach Folts in a 62-31 win over Galway.

The Eagles were led by Andrew Izzo with 14 points.

Josh Orton scored 25 points for Waterford-Halfmoon in a 61-44 Central Hudson Valley League win over Heatly. Jace Davey added 11 points for the Fordians (7-7).

Gabe Brown scored 22 points for Loudonville Christian School in a 72-55 win over Berlin, which got 28 from Greg Depaolis.

Nolan Lewis led Germantown to a 59-48 win over Doane Stuart with his 21 points. Doane Stuart got 17 points from Evan Schettini.

In Wasaren League action, Dante Langley and Shane Lyon led Schuylerville to a 50-42 win over Stillwater, scoring 12 points apiece. Dan Waldron scored 11 and Ryan Buell 10 in the win.

Stillwater was led by Robert Stickney with 12 points, while John Hoin added 11 and Shawn McNeil 10.

Hoosic Valley (9-1, 13-1) beat Tamarac, 40-36, with 21 points from John Rooney. Tamarac (2-7, 4-8) got 11 from Pat McLaughlan.

Lake George topped Corinth, 74-39, in an Adirondack League game, with 38 points from Joel Wincowski, who scored 26 in the first half. Greg Rosenthall added 18 points for the Warriors (11-1, 12-1).

The Tomahawks (6-6, 6-7) were led by Zack Shippee with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Hadley-Luzerne’s Caliber Bolt scored 19 points in a 61-47 win over Warrensburg, which was led by Tyler Wilcox’s 16 points.

In a non-league game, Green Tech beat Class A state semifinalist Jamesville-DeWitt, 75-68, with 26 points from Jizziah Carr. Both Jamil Hood Jr. and Maurice West scored 15 points, and Kristopher Clark added 11.
