An Albany man is in jail after allegedly leaving four dogs in the back of a U-Haul truck.

Colonie police got a call Saturday from the Central Avenue Super 8 motel saying a few dogs were locked in a cargo truck in their parking lot.

Police and Colonie Animal Control responded to the scene, finding emaciated dogs in the back of the truck.

All were taken to the Capital District Animal Emergency Clinic in Latham for treatment.

Anthony Walker, of 105 Mt. Hope Drive, Albany, allegedly the owner of the dogs and operator of the U-Haul, was charged with torturing, injuring and failing to provide sustenance to animals under agriculture and market law 353.
