Surgeon joins Albany Medical Center staff

ALBANY -- Carlos Pinheiro-Neto, M.D., Ph.D., has joined Albany Medical Center's division of otolaryngology and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical College.

Fellowship-trained in endonasal cranial-based surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Dr. Pinheiro-Neto specializes in minimally invasive and endoscopic approaches to treat skull-base disorders, including pituitary tumors and cancers.

Dr. Pinheiro-Neto recently served as an attending surgeon for the facial trauma service in the department of otolaryngology at UPMC. He was chief resident in otolaryngology at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil/School of Medicine, where he also was fellowship-trained in craniomaxillofacial surgery. He received a Post-Graduation in Science (Ph.D.) from the University of Sao Paulo and received his medical degree from the Federal University of Ceara, Brazil.

He and his wife live in Delmar.

Littauer announces VP of marketing

GLOVERSVILLE -- Nathan Littauer Hospital has appointed a new vice president of marketing.

Cheryl Gnade McGrattan, who joined Littauer four years ago, now has primary responsibility for the hospital's advertising, communications, media relations and community relations initiatives.

"Cheryl has proven herself ready to handle her promotion and new responsibilities and we are happy to welcome her to the senior leadership team at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home," said Laurence E. Kelly, hospital president and CEO.

McGrattan is a 21-year marketing veteran with prior experience at the Department of Commerce in international trade, the state Department of Agriculture and several companies.

"I am pleased to be joining a team whose unyielding commitment to excellence in health care is at the core of our day-to-day operations," McGrattan said

Westcott joining PR firm Behan

GLENS FALLS -- Mark Westcott, a former congressional campaign director and marketing executive, has been hired by public relations firm Behan Communications Inc. with offices in Glens Falls and Albany.

Westcott served as campaign director for U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson's successful run for a second term in Congress last year. He was also Gibson's deputy director and campaign strategist during his first term in Congress.

Prior to joining public service, Westcott was a senior marketing executive for more than 25 years. At Nintendo of America he managed a $125 million advertising department that included media planning, research and consumer and trade promotion for Nintendo, according to a statement from Behan Communications.

Westcott will serve as a senior strategist and consultant for Behan clients but will not work on matters involving Warren County government or Congressman Gibson's office. Westcott, a Queensbury resident, is serving his first term as a member of the Warren County Board of Supervisors.

"Mark brings an extraordinary blend of marketing, branding, research, public policy and political experience. We look forward to him joining our team and putting his expertise to work for our clients," said Mark L. Behan, president of Behan Communications.

Westcott is a graduate of Glens Falls High School and St. Lawrence University, and holds an MBA from Duke University. He and his wife have two daughters.

Coldwell welcomes new salesperson

NISKAYUNA -- Coldwell Banker Prime Properties has announced the addition of Erin Evans, licensed real estate salesperson, to the Niskayuna office at 1760 Union St. as a new member of the sales team. She is a graduate of the Brenner School of Real Estate.

Evans resides in Clifton Park and will be selling real estate throughout the Capital Region.

LeCuyer tapped for ValleyCats post

TROY -- A Schenectady man has been named business development manager for the Tri-City ValleyCats, the team announced.

Jason Lecuyer will help lead the ValleyCats sales department and work to expand the brand throughout the Capital Region, the team said. Lecuyer was born and raised in Colonie.

"Jason's passion for improving the community in which we live coupled with his business experience makes him a welcome addition to the ValleyCats front office," ValleyCats Vice President/General Manager Rick Murphy said in a statement.

Lecuyer previously spent six years in the financial services industry, serving on the Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce 's Board of Directors and chairing their business education committee.

Emeritus names assistant director

COLONIE -- Ina Weintraub has been appointed assistant executive director at Emeritus at Colonie Manor, a retirement and assisted living community. She will assist in overseeing its care, programs and daily operations.

Weintraub was previously the business office manager for Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Amsterdam. Prior to that she served as business manager with Sunrise Senior Living in Saddle River, N.J. Weintraub is a resident of Glenville.

Colonie Manor, at 626 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, is operated by Emeritus Senior Living.
