A little girl took a walk out into the cold when her grandmother fell asleep Monday afternoon, police said.
The 4-year-old was found wandering on Eastern Avenue without shoes or a coat.
A passerby saw her and quickly called police.
Officers said the grandmother was supposed to be watching the girl when she fell asleep. She was not charged.
The girl was taken to Ellis Hospital as a precaution, but was not injured, police said. They turned her over to her mother.
Child Protective Services will investigate further.
