Madison Rowland poured in 27 of her game-high 33 points in the first half to lift Shaker over Shenendehowa, 60-39, in a Suburban Council girls’ basketball game Saturday.

Rowland also accounted for seven rebounds and eight steals for the Blue Bison, who improved to 14-1 in the SC North Division and 16-1 overall.

Ashley Acker and Alyssia Marsal fired in 10 points apiece for the 10-5, 12-5 Lady Plainsmen.

Hannah Friend recorded 14 points in Holy Names’ 37-33 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk in the Colonial Council.

Kayla Hotaling scored 12 points for Ravena.

Cassidy Chapko tossed in 24 points to lift Hoosic Valley over Stillwater, 54-37, in a Wasaren League game.

The Indians, who shut out the Warriors, 13-0, in the second period, moved to 13-1 in the league and 15-3 overall.

Stillwater (5-9, 6-11) was paced by Elizabeth Zehner with 14 points.

Boys’ basketball

Eli Newsome connected on 10 free throws en route to 22 points as Cohoes stopped Mechanicville, 56-50, in the Colonial Council.

The Tigers (9-3, 9-6), fell behind, 13-1, after the first eight minutes, but closed with a 22-11 fourth-quarter run to beat the Red Raiders.

Shelton Alston added 13 points for the Tigers. Nate Hatalsky tallied 15 points for the Red Raiders.

John Rooney poured in 30 points to carry Hoosic Valley past Stillwater, 61-50, in a Wasaren League game.

Mike Pierre added 17 points for the 12-2, 16-2 Indians.

Shawn McNeil netted 16 points for 7-8, 9-9 Stillwater.

In a Patroon Conference game, Cairo-Durham jumped out to a 21-8 first-quarter lead and thumped host Maple Hill, 74-41.

Brendan Halligan poured in 25 points to lead the Mustangs. Logan Samarija topped the Wildcats with 13 points.
