A 13-year-old Halfmoon youth was arrested Wednesday on a felony terrorism charge for allegedly making a bomb threat at a Shenendehowa middle school, state police said.
The youth, who was not identified due to his age, was charged with terrorism and second-degree harassment. He was released to a third party, and will appear in family court, said Troop G spokesman Trooper Mark Cepiel.
The student made a written threat at Koda Middle School at 1:05 p.m. on Feb. 6, according to police information. "It was a written threat on a locker and a surveillance camera captured it," Cepiel said.
The surveillance tape led to the youth's arrest, he said.
The school district declined to comment on the incident.
