An Albany woman died this afternoon at Albany Medical Center after being struck Thursday night by a car on Central Avenue, according to Albany police.
The accident happened last night in the area of Central and King avenues, where police believe 28-year-old Katherine Parker had been crossing Central Avenue at the intersection when she was struck by a vehicle headed west.
When officers responded, Parker had several injuries. She was treated at the scene by firefighters and taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital in critical condition.
The driver, Corine Edwards, 68, of Albany, was not injured during the accident, according to a news release.
