Firefighters battled a blaze at a multi-family home on Ballston Avenue late Thursday.
According to police, the fire heavily damaged the top two floors of a building at 79 Ballston Ave., located at the intersection with South Street.
All tenants were out of the building and no injuries were reported at the scene, police said.
Police received a 911 call at 9:15 p.m. reporting a structure fire. The city fire department responded and upon arrival observed heavy smoke and fire coming from the second and third floors.
Firefighters began attacking the blaze and found it necessary to call in support. By 10 p.m., the fire was under control and was extinguished by 10:30 p.m., according to the report.
The second and third floors suffered extensive damage while the first floor had smoke and water damage.
Ballston Avenue, South Street and Lincoln Avenue in the area of the fire were closed down during the fire and remained closed until 1 a.m., police said.
Fire investigators from the Saratoga Springs Police and Fire Departments were on the scene early this morning to investigate the cause of the fire.
