Girls' sectionals: Harvey, Salo help BKW advance to class C semis

Liz Harvey accounted for all 10 of Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s fourth-quarter points as the No. 3 Bulldogs held on to beat No. 6 Greenwich, 39-34, in a Class C quarterfinal on Friday night.

Harvey finished with a game-high 19 points, and Mary Salo turned in a triple-double of 10 points, 11 blocks and 15 rebounds.

The Witches were led by Mariah Linnett and Ali Beck with 11 points apiece.

The Bulldogs (19-1) will face No. 2 Maple Hill (19-1) in the semifinals.

Anna Despart scored 11 points, and both Bella Nelson and Lindsay Mannion added 10 for Maple Hill in a balanced attack to beat No. 10 Mechanicville, 48-27. Sab­rina Wolfe finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.

The Red Raiders (10-10) got 15 points from Mikaela Starks.

Cassidy Chapko scored 24 points to lead No. 1 Hoosic Valley past No. 8 Fort Plain. The Hilltoppers were led by Haley Kilmartin’s eight points.

Rachel Pine’s 19 points led No. 4 Hoosick Falls in a 61-52 win over No. 5 Duanesburg. Frankie Pearson added 17 points, and Kelly Pine had 12 for the Panthers.

The Eagles got 19 points from Stephanie Rice and 17 from Madeline Kenyon.

Colonie got 16 points from Nicole Riddick and 15 from Sydnie Rosales in a 54-43 Class A quarterfinal win. Catholic Central was led by Alliyah Gillespie’s 14 points.

Kaylee Rickert’s 27 points led Bethlehem past Columbia,

74-25. The Eagles also got 14 points from Bridget Murphy, while Jenna Giacone and Olivia Hughes chipped in with 10 apiece.

The Blue Devils were led by Naslasja Johnston with nine points.

Madison Rowland scored 17 points to lead Shaker past Bishop Maginn, 51-30. Shainn Coons scored 13 points, and Courtney Lane had 10 for the Griffins.

In Class D, Argyle’s Jacquelyn Miller tied the Section II record for career three-pointers, hitting six to give her 228, the mark previously set by Schenectady Christian School’s Katie Kaidas in 2006 and Fonda-Fultonville’s Natalie Mosconi in 2007.

Miller finished with 30 points and 15 steals as No. 3 Argyle beat No. 6 Heatly, 73-37. Erica Rey­nolds added 17 points, and Christina Tucker scored 16.

The Hornets got 12 points from Cayla Heffern.

Kara White led No. 2 Fort Ann with 24 points in a 64-36 win over No. 7 Hartford. Jordan Aubin and Kayla Bancroft added 14 points apiece in the win.

Hartford was led by Jennifer Aubin with 11 points.

With a strong first half, No. 4 Warrensburg beat No. 5 Northville, 58-42, outscoring the Falcons before the break, 27-13.

Erin Langworthy had a game-high 24 points for Warrensburg (10-9), and Mika Morehouse added 17 points and 12 rebounds. Liz Turner also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Northville’s Lyndsey Wadsworth scored 18 points.

Alex Godfrey finished with 10 points to lead nine scorers for No. 1 Fort Edward in a 54-7 win over No. 8 North Warren.
