State police in Mayfield had a busy Friday night and Saturday morning, making three separate drunken-driving arrests — one in the city of Johnstown and two in the town of Johnstown.

The first arrest occurred about 9:45 p.m. Friday when troopers stopped Ronald Thompson, 31, of Amsterdam, as he drove along County Route 107 in the town of Johnstown. Troopers found him to be intoxicated and in possession of a “marijuana smoking device” that contained marijuana.

Thompson was taken to the Mayfield state police barracks, where he provided a breath sample that showed he had been operating a vehicle with a 0.13 percent blood-alcohol content. He was then charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana, and released on a ticket to appear in Johnstown Town Court on March 20.

The next arrest occurred early this morning, when troopers stopped Ferdinand Suchy, 48, of Mayfield, after they said he failed to keep right while driving on North Comrie Avenue in the city of Johnstown. Suchy was arrested, troopers said, but refused to submit to a chemical test. He was arraigned in Johnstown Town Court and ordered to appear Tuesday morning in Johnstown City Court.

Also early this morning, troopers stopped a Daniel J. Wehn, 23, of Gloversville, for allegedly speeding on Route 30A in the town of Johnstown. Wehn was arrested, troopers said, and provided a breath sample at the Mayfield barracks that showed he had been operating a vehicle with a 0.09 percent blood-alcohol content. Wehn was released on tickets to appear in Johnstown Town Court on March 20.
