State police say two people have been killed in a snowmobile accident in Long Lake.

Authorities tell the Glens Falls Post-Star the accident happened at 6:44 p.m. Saturday and involved two snowmobiles.

Details of the accident were not immediately available. State police say more information would be released on Monday.

The accident was one of two fatal crashes involving snowmobiles in the Adirondacks on Saturday.

State police say a 47-year-old Herkimer County man was killed after his snowmobile went off a trail and crashed in the town of Ohio, about 60 miles northeast of Syracuse. Authorities say Scott Streeter was thrown from the sled and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
