A renovated Carney’s Tavern under new management will hold a “soft” opening on Wednesday at 17 Main St. in Ballston Lake.
Michael Pallozzi, executive chef, said the landmark Carney’s Tavern has undergone an extensive renovation over the past six weeks. He said he and his staff will gradually work toward a grand opening in the weeks to come. He said the soft opening will allow the staff to become trained.
Rosemary Carney retired from the restaurant business last October after 30 years. Her husband, Robert Carney, died one year ago. Pallozzi Restaurant and Management Group of Clifton Park purchased the business and is leasing the building from the Carney family.
He said the menu will include the traditional favorites from when the Carneys operated the restaurant but will add new items, including veal and fresh fish. Pallozzi said he will be purchasing produce and cheese from local vendors.
Starting Wednesday the eatery will offer a set three-course dinner for a single price. The restaurant will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For more information contact the restaurant 952-7177.
