The Albany Academies kicked off their 15-month-long bicentennial celebration Monday on the school's Charter Day.

The event included a special proclamation as well as ringing of the school's recently restored clock.

This year marks the 200th anniversary for the Albany Academy, and 2014 marks the same milestone for the Albany Academy for Girls. Special events are planned throughout the year, and the school plans to produce a documentary.

Merchandise such as coffee mugs, ties and apparel are available to commemorate the bicentennial celebration. For more information, click here.
