Saratoga Springs police arrested a 17-year-old Glenville student Wednesday after he allegedly threatened a teacher with a sharpened pencil at the F. Donald Myers BOCES Education Center on Henning Road.

Police said Emerick J. Benaquista of Seth Lane was wandering the halls of the school building with the pencil when they arrived about 1:25 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the student was looking for a teacher he was angry with so he could stab her with the pencil.

The teacher was placed in a secure area while Benaquista was brought under control and arrested, police said.

Benaquista was charged with attempted assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
