Snow totals range from 4 to 11 inches — so far

Highest totals recorded in points north as storm hits region one day before arrival of spring.

Snow totals measured between 4 and 11 inches throughout the Capital Region through early this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Reports given by weather service staffers and members of the public showed between 4 and 8 inches in Schenectady County, 5 to 10 across Saratoga County, 7 to 11 inches in Fulton County, 5 to 10 in Montgomery County and 4 to 7 in Albany County, said Ingrid Amberger, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

The biggest individual reports of snow through early afternoon were 11.5 inches in Mayfield and 11.2 inches in the Fulton County hamlet of Fish House.

In Saratoga County, Milton and Middle Grove residents also reported higher than average totals with 10 inches.

For the rest of the day and tonight, Amberger said up to another inch of snow is expected in the northern areas of the Capital Region, including Saratoga County, and the rest of the area is expected to get less than that.
