The 29-year-old woman found lying on the ground Sunday night on Union Street was physically and sexually assaulted, Saratoga Springs Police said Tuesday.
The new information about the strong-arm robbery surfaced as police continue to investigate the incident that happened shortly before 10 p.m. in the area of 75 Union St.
Police said the victim told them she was physically assaulted by three men and then sexually assaulted by two of the three men.
The victim also had more than $300 in cash stolen from her wallet. She was treated and released from Saratoga Hospital for minor injuries.
The attack occurred in close proximity to the victim's home, police said. Based on the investigation and information obtained by investigators, it is believed that this may not have been a random act, according to a police statement. The investigation continues. No descriptions of the suspects have been released by police.
