Fingerprint leads police to Gilboa man in burglary probe

State police have arrested a Gilboa man whose fingerprint they say they discovered during a November

State police have arrested a Gilboa man whose fingerprint they say they discovered during a November 2011 burglary investigation.

Troopers said Josh McMullen, 29, of Spencer Street, left the print inside a home in the Schoharie County town of Gilboa. State police identified the print in early 2012 at their forensic unit in Latham.

McMullen has a history of burglary convictions and has spent time in rehabilitation and halfway houses, troopers said. He was recently located in Schoharie County and arrested March 18 in connection with two 2011 burglaries where cash, food and a rifle scope were reported stolen from homes on Maybie Road in Gilboa.

McMullen was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary. He was arraigned in Gilboa Town Court and sent to the Schoharie County jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
