City police are investigating an alleged assault and robbery that occurred Saturday night.

Officers responded to the area of Granger Avenue just north of Caroline Street for a reported robbery at about 10 p.m. The victim had made her way to a house on Granger Avenue and told the residents she had been assaulted, robbed and needed the police.

She told police she was walking to a house on Granger Avenue and when she turned off of Caroline Street onto Granger, she was attacked by a man.
