Albany police are investigating two separate robberies that occurred at convenience stores.
Officers responded to the Pearl Street Market, at 213 S. Pearl St., about 10 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, the victim said a man entered the store armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The victim told officers the suspect displayed the weapon and then fled the store before getting any money.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He is about 5-foot-8 and was last seen wearing dark clothing.
Just after midnight today, officers responded to Boulevard Grocery at 139 Henry Johnson Blvd. for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, the victims told police a male entered the store armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as black man, about 5-foot-8 and last seen wearing dark clothing.
Police are trying to determine if the incidents are related.
