Second person charged in Stillwater car theft

Police charged a second person Thursday in the theft of a car that was then sold to a scrapyard.

Police charged a second person today in the theft of a car that was then sold to a scrapyard.

William B. Shafer, 26, of Stillwater, was charged with grand larceny, a felony.

He stole a car and sold it to a scrap yard, police said.

Police also charged Josette V. DeGeorge, 19, of Stillwater, with grand larceny in the case.

DeGeorge was arrested last month, and police said at the time that they would make another arrest, but they could not immediately find Shafer. Police said he was in prison, serving time for an unrelated conviction.

Shafer was arraigned today and sent back to prison.
