CDPHP picks 3 for Physicians’ Academy honor

ALBANY — Three local physicians have been inducted into the CDPHP Physicians’ Academy.

The honorees are Dr. Anthony Malone, Dr. Fouad Sattar and Dr. Robin Tassinari.

• Malone is the co-founder of Scott Bello and Anthony Malone, MDs Pediatric Practice (now CapitalCare Pediatrics) in Troy, a practice handling more than 15,000 visits per year.

He is also a full partner and co-founder of Developmental Pediatrics (now CapitalCare Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics) in Latham.

Malone is a developmental and general pediatrician with extensive experience in the care of special needs children, including those with birth defects, autism, or in foster care. He has won numerous awards and grants for the care of children with Down syndrome, community pediatrics, lead poisoning prevention, prevention of child abuse and neglect and ecumenical medical missions.

• Sattar is president and founder of Fouad Sattar PC in Schenectady, a private practice that has served the obstetrical and gynecological needs of Capital Region women for more than 25 years.

Over the years, he has received several community service and teaching awards for excellence of care and mentoring.

• Tassinari is an attending psychiatrist at Albany Medical Center and a professor of psychiatry and internal medicine at Albany Medical College.

He recently retired from the Capital District Psychiatric Center, where he spent 25 years working evenings in the crisis unit. Tassinari has received numerous awards and honors for his commitment to teaching, including the Psychiatry Distinguished Teacher’s Award on 19 occasions and the Outstanding Golden Apple Award from Albany Medical College.

Since the academy’s inception in 2004, CDPHP has inducted 36 physicians from a variety of specialties.

Family practice adds new physician

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saratoga Hospital recently welcomed Dr. Tanya Lehine to Saratoga Family Physicians, located at 3044 Route 50.

Lehine received her medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury. She completed both an internship and residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken, N.J., and is board certified in family practice.

Local native earns research grant

AMSTERDAM — An Amsterdam native recently won a $40,000 research grant for a bladder cancer study. Dr. Kristin Greco received the grant for studies at Loyola University from the Urology Care Foundation's Residency Research Awards program.

Greco, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Greco of Florida, currently performs transplant surgery at Chicago Medical Center.
