Sophomore Emily McGrail scored seven goals and added one assist, while senior Heather Fraser also registered eight points with six goals and two assists, to power the Union College women’s lacrosse team to a 16-14 victory over Clarkson Friday at Hantz Turf Field.

The game was played under a steady freezing drizzle.

Union, now 3-1 in the Liberty League and 5-3 overall, also got seven saves from goalkeeper Kim Grinhaus.

Seniors Alyssa Cristaldi and Katie VanDeValk scored six goals apiece for 3-3, 8-3 Clarkson.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Brewers jumped out to an 11-5 halftime lead and held off the Thoroughbreds at Wachenheim Field.

Dara Davis produced five goals, and Phoebe Tzannes added four goals for the Brewers, 3-2 in the Liberty League and 8-2 overall.

Spencer Morgan and Maggie Murphy each found the net twice for the 0-4, 1-9 Thoroughbreds.

TROY — Freshman Mackenzie O’Neil notched a career-high five points on four goals and an assist, as the 19th ranked Engineers crushed the Raptors at Renwyck Field.

Senior Alissa Peterson and junior Erin Pomerantz added three goals each for the 4-0, 8-2 Engineers.
