Emma Malicki scored five goals, and Albany Academy pulled away in the second half Friday to beat Schenectady, 15-9, in a Capital District Women’s Lacrosse League game.

Emma Hardy had four goals and three assists for the defending league and Section II Class C champion Bears. Breona Richmond and Dahneaqah Henderson scored three goals apiece for Schenectady.

Sally O’Toole notched seven goals, and four of her Holy Names teammates had multiple points in a 15-7 CDWLL win over Cohoes.

Katie Monson paced the Tigers with three goals.

Inclement weather forced the Emma Willard at Hoosick Falls game to be postponed, keeping Jesters’ standout Francesca Gundrum on hold at 198 career goals. Emma Willard will host Albany Academy Monday.

Niskayuna (3-0) will take on nine-time Connecticut state champion Darien (3-1) tonight at 7 in a non-league game at Union College.

Darien won the state Class M title last season with a 20-2 mark, and claimed six straight Connecticut crowns from 2005-10. Darien has made 25 consecutive trips to the state final four with five runner-up trophies.

Darien defeated Niskayuna in 2010 (9-2) and 2011 (8-4). Darien is No. 9 among all Connecticut teams, and Niskayuna is No. 18 among all New York teams, according to the LaxPower computer rankings.

Niskayuna is an 11-time Section II champ and two-time state runner-up.
