Lacrosse: Edick sparks Plainsmen win

DJ Edick scored five goals, and Brian Rogers had four goals and an assist as the Shenendehowa boys’

DJ Edick scored five goals, and Brian Rogers had four goals and an assist as the Shenendehowa boys’ lacrosse team defeated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 14-3, to improve to 6-1 in the Suburban Council and 8-1 overall on Monday.

The Plainsmen outscored the Spartans, 10-1, in the second half.

Austin Clark scored two goals for the Spartans (2-4, 4-4).

Guilderland outscored Colonie, 5-0, in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and win, 12-7.

Stephena Polsinelli scored five goals for the Dutchmen, and Brian Pfiel had three goals and an assist for the Garnet Raiders.

Shaker ripped Dover, 13-1, in a non-league game.

Tim Leahey had three goals and three assists, and Stephen Rehfuss scored three goals for the Blue Bison.

Shaker outscored Niskayuna, 7-2, in the second half to win, 11-7, in a Suburban Council girls’ game.

Maddie Devine had four goals and four assists for the Blue Bison, and Julia Lennon had three goals and four assists.

Bri Sacks led Niskayuna (4-3, 5-3) with four goals.

Lauren Stamatel and Lydia Knapp each scored four goals, and Emma Morrisey scored three as Glens Falls defeated Scotia-Glenville, 15-5, to improve to 4-1 in the Foothills Council and 4-3 overall.

Cara Zanta had two goals and an assist for the Tartans (4-2, 4-4).

In a non-league game, Samantha Suriano had three goals and two assists, and Breona Richmond and Dahneaqah Henderson each scored three goals as Schenectady defeated Ballston Spa, 10-7.

Aubrey Thomas scored three goals for the Scotties.
