Eagles outlast Lions in WAC

Cody Largeteau knocked in two runs with a double in the fourth inning as Duanesburg beat Mekeel Christian Academy, 7-5, Tuesday in a Western Athletic Conference baseball game.

Sean McGarry blasted a solo homer and drove in a second run for the 5-2, 5-4 Eagles. who gave coach Chris Wyanski his 299th coaching win.

Ohieno Miller and Courtney Penson both had two hits for Mekeel.

Cam Coons went 3-for-3 and knocked in five runs, and Sean Hart drove in three runs as Saratoga Central Catholic beat Middleburgh, 21-1, in another WAC game.

Richie Martino’s two-run single highlighted a four-run sixth inning that carried Schoharie past Galway, 6-3. Evan Ottman also had two hits and drove in two runs for the Ind­ians. Taylor Hartman drove in a pair for the Eagles.

Ryan Hennessey drove in five runs as Mayfield beat Sharon Springs, 26-3.

Javar Tillman homered and drove in four runs, Cody Shafer had three hits and three RBI, and Nick Pat­ierne had three hits and two RBI as Schenectady beat Bishop Maginn, 23-0, in the Big 10.

Niskayuna used an eight-run sixth inning to beat Averill Park, 14-8, in the Suburban Council.

Tom Spataro drove in a pair of runs for the Silver Warriors. Alex Tomlinson knocked in two for the Warriors, who posted seven runs in the home third.

Kevin Smith homered and drove in four runs, getting Columbia past Shaker, 11-4. Ryan Puentes helped with a pair of RBI.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake took advantage of 14 walks to beat Col­onie, 9-4, moving the 4-2 Spartans closer to clinching a Class A sectional berth.

Jayson Roddy singled twice for 4-3 Colonie.

Matt Drum went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs to lead Shenendehowa past Mohonasen, 15-2. And­rew Pugliese and Jordan Cotton both had two hits for Mohonasen.

Josh Hay singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving South Glens Falls a 5-4 win over Broadalbin-Perth in the Foothills Council.

Joe Zarecki had two hits for the Patriots.

Kyle Pentak had three hits and knocked in two runs, then worked the final three innings to give Ravena a 7-6 win over Albany Academy in the Colonial Council.

Ian Bennett hit a three-run double for the Cadets.

Billy Pine belted a three-run home run in the 11th inning, giving Hoosick Falls a 9-6 win over Stillwater in the Wasaren League for Mike Lilac’s 299th win. Liam Kane had three hits and three RBI for Stillwater.

Cody Sebast had two hits and knocked in two runs as Greenwich beat Granville, 8-1, in the Wasaren.

Sean McLaughlin had two hits as Hoosic Valley (5-1, 10-1) beat Cambridge, 4-3.
