High school lacrosse: Nisky, Shaker win

Suburban Council boys’ lacrosse leaders Niskayuna and Shaker continued on their collision course wit

Suburban Council boys’ lacrosse leaders Niskayuna and Shaker continued on their collision course with wins, as the Silver Warriors topped Ballston Spa, 19-1, and the Blue Bison beat Columbia, 23-2.

Niskayuna (7-0, 8-0) will host Shaker (5-0, 8-0) Tuesday in a matchup of state-ranked teams.

Niskayuna’s Division I college-bound attack unit combined for 19 points, with Lucas Maloney generating five goals, Mike D’Amario collecting three goals and six assists and Luke Goldstock netting four goals with an assist.

Tim Leahey had six goals and two assists for Shaker, Stephen Rehfuss totaled two goals and six assists, and Nick Dodd had three goals and four assists.

Cam Carter led Colonie with three goals in an 11-6 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Dan Porter had three goals for the Spartans.

Noah Arciero picked up three goals and an assist in Saratoga Springs’ 8-5 win over Bethlehem.

Zach Tripoli delivered four goals, Cullen Swider had two goals and two assists, as Scotia-Glenville won its seventh game in nine outings, 10-7, over Foothills Council foe Glens Falls.

Girls

Kristen St. Andrews and Samantha Suriano combined for 10 goals and six assists to lift Schen-ectady over Cohoes, 16-5, in the Capital District Women’s Lacrosse League.

St. Andrews had five goals and four assists. Dahneaqah Henderson added three goals and two assists for Schenectady.

Francesca Gundrum piled up eight goals and nine points as Emma Willard edged Holy Names, 13-11. Sally O’Toole scored four goals for Holy Names.

Morgan Hardt scored three goals, as Guilderland got a 20-2 Suburban Council win over Ballston Spa.

Guilderland (8-0, 8-1) has turned in back-to-back 20-goal games since losing to Longmeadow (Mass.) Saturday, 13-10.

Julia Lennon tied a school record with eight goals and added an assist, and Sarah Cheney had four goals and four assists as once-beaten Shaker overpowered Columbia, 17-7. Shannon Ryan scored three goals for the Blue Devils.

Kelly Schlansker and Brianna Sacks both fired in three goals to propel Niskayuna past Averill Park, 13-6. Morgan Lionarons paced the Warriors with three goals.

Kayla Goman had four goals and an assist, and Maria Patane had three goals as Greenwich beat Johnstown, 12-11, in the Foothills Council. Skyler Swatt scored five goals for the Lady Bills.
