SCCC shows the true meaning of ‘community’
Schenectady County Community College underscores the word “community,” demonstrating that SCCC is not just a fine educational institution, but a good neighbor that serves Schenectady County in many other ways.
The college has facilities available to the public for meetings and events, and affords not-for-profit organizations a significant discount, with catering available.
On behalf of the Schenectady County Bar Association, as chair of the Law Day Committee, and personally, I would like to thank SCCC and Assistant Vice President of Administration Susan E. Beaudoin for helping to make our “Ask a Lawyer Program” on Law Day, May 1 a great success.
We were able to provide dozens of people with direction for their legal problems in a very nice setting, the Lally Mohawk room.
We presented the Liberty Bell Award to Schenectady County and City Court Drug Court Coordinator Ronald Butler. with dozens of people, including family, co-workers and County Court Judge Karen Drago, present. Everyone was comfortable, no one had any problem with parking, and the SCCC staff was very attentive.
Thank you, SCCC and Ms. Beaudoin.

Ellis’ ER is doing an outstanding service for the community
On April 25 a relative had the need to use Ellis Hospital emergency room, Nott Street Campus.
A very simple statement: God bless all the ER employees. Dr. Richman, Stephanie Yauchler, RN, and Bailey (technician) were absolutely wonderful.
We were served in a very timely manner, even though a number of very serious emergencies occurred simultaneously. Their calm demeanor helped at a most stressful time.
The ER was immaculate and comfortable. Schenectady is truly blessed to have such highly skilled, caring hospital staff. Thank you!
