Baseball: Bowerman does it all for Canajoharie

Zack Bowerman struck out 13 and went 4-for-4 with a triple, double, two singles and two runs scored to carry Canajoharie over Mayfield, 9-5, in a Western Athletic Conference baseball game Friday.

Kevin Shannon (triple, single), and Jace Fox (double) also contributed for the Cougars.

Mayfield fell to 4-10, 4-12.

Steven Brooks and Cole Chase had two hits apiece and knocked in two runs each to help Schoharie beat Duanesburg, 4-2, in another WAC game.

Richie Martino contributed two hits for 8-4 Schoharie.

Tyler Guido scattered five hits, and Rhein Zeronda went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lift Mekeel Christian Academy to a 14-4 victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Mekeel is 9-5 and 10-6.

The Bulldogs fell to 4-10 and 4-12.

Saratoga Central Catholic bounced Galway, 7-1, as freshman pitcher Joe Schmidt picked up the win in his first varsity start.

Cam Coons (double, two singles), Ryan Czarnacki (3-for-5) and Jesse Winders (two singles) topped the 13-1, 14-2 Saints.

The Eagles (6-10, 6-12) got a double and a single from Sam Uline.

Nick DiNapoli connected for a home run, and Nick Gallucci and Pat Curran backed him up with two hits apiece as Bethlehem stopped Guilderland, 5-1, in a Suburban Council game at Joseph Bruno Stadium.

The Eagles improved to 9-4 in the Suburban Council and 13-4 overall.

Lewis Lima had two hits for the 5-8 Dutchmen.

Jon Mueller homered and singled to pace a 13-hit attack, leading Ballston Spa over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 15-8.

Jon Canty and Dan Crozier each contributed three hits, and Luke Bush added two hits and two RBI for the 7-7, 8-8 Scotties.

Dan Nuzzi plated three runs with two doubles, and Robbie Knightes added a triple, single and two RBI for the 8-6, 11-6 Spartans.

Jeremy Glazer plated five runs with two hits as Catholic Central (6-9, 9-9) beat Bishop Maginn, 14-3, in the Big 10.

York Bush doubled for the Crusaders. Darrien Higgins ripped two hits for 1-12 Bishop Maginn.

Amsterdam slammed Albany, 8-1, in another Big 10 game.

Zach Dufel limited the Falcons to three hits, and Andrew Rouse drove in three runs with three hits for the Rams.

Julian Gallup chipped in with two hits, and Kolbie Glionna added a two-run double.

Josh Hay struck out 10, and Travis Schrammel contributed a double, single and two RBI to lead South Glens Falls over Hudson Falls, 5-4, in the Foothills Council.

Anthony Musto hit a two-out double in the top of the seventh inning to push Scotia-Glenville over Johnstown, 6-4.

Nick Schaub plated two runs with a double and single, and Chris Borden added two singles for the 9-3 Tartans.

Joe Nellis struck out 15 in six-plus innings for the 7-5, 10-6 Sir Bills, who also got a triple from Jon Heroth and a two singles and a sacrifice fly from Patrick Morrison.

Anthony Visco struck out 11, and both Patrick Brown and Tyler Schmidt drove in two runs to help Broadalbin-Perth crush Gloversville, 12-2.

Brown, Tim Gordon and Matt Myers each delivered a pair of hits for the Patriots. Mike Fancher drilled two hits, including a triple, for the Huskies (4-8, 6-7)

Eric Daley drove in two runs with a double and two singles, lifting Queensbury over Glens Falls, 4-2.

Chris Pontiff contributed two singles, and Eric Wettersten and Zack Parsons each doubled for the 10-2, 12-4 Spartans.

Logan Akins homered for the 4-8, 7-8 Indians.

The Bulldogs evened their league (6-6) and overall records (9-9).

Ethan Kelsey went 4-for-4, including a homer in the bottom of the seventh, for the 1-11, 3-11 Tigers.

Connor McDonough banged out a triple and two doubles to pace Lansingburgh over Cohoes, 7-2, in the Colonial Council.

Kevin Napier drilled a triple and two singles for the 4-7, 7-10 Tigers.

The Knights improved to 11-1 and 11-7.

Nick Bird struck out seven and also had two hits in Cobleskill-Richmondville’s 6-5 win over Watervliet.

Warren Mau drove in three runs for the Bulldogs.

Jimmy Griffin went 4-for-4 to lead the Cannoneers.

Andrew Jenkins struck out seven and allowed only one earned run through six innings in Corinth’s 9-2 Adirondack League triumph over Warrensburg.

Anthony Villano went 3-for-3, including a double, and Nate Woodcock contributed a two-run triple and an RBI groundout for the 10-4, 11-5 Tomahawks.

Liam Kane went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI, and Stillwater took advantage of seven Mechanicville errors on the way to an 18-7 non-league victory.

Michael Ferlazzo went 3-for-4 with three RBI, and Jake McCumber drove in two runs for the 8-7 Warriors.

Zach Perras went 3-for-4 with two RBI, and Alex Hall-St. Gelais contributed two hits and two RBI for the 8-10 Red Raiders.
