Second-seeded Lars Olson of Doane Stuart swept No. 1 seed Rohin Bose of Bethlehem, 6-1, 6-0, Thursday to win the Section II boys’ tennis championship.
Albany Academy’s Michael Haelen beat Ben Spoor of Ballston Spa, 6-4, 6-1, in the third-place match.
The No. 2 seed team of Erick Kopff and Alex Federov of Guilderland ended the run of unseeded schoolmates Bill Dong and Michael Zhu with a 6-1, 7-6 (3) win in the doubles final.
The Ballston Spa duo of Nick Spoor and Bryce Recer, the sixth-seeded team, topped Matt DeSantis and Jimmy Merrill of Columbia for third.
Due to the weather, the final day of competition was moved from the courts at Schenectady’s Central Park to the Sportime facility.
The state tournament is set to begin May 30 at the U.S. Tennis Center in Flushing.
