Suffern outscored Guilderland, 7-4, in the second half to pull out an 11-8 win in the Class A regional semifinals at Fox Lane High School on Wednesday.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Albany Academy also lost regional semifinals. The last time Section II failed to win a game in the girls’ state lacrosse tournament was 2010.
Regina Sharp scored four goals for Suffern (Section I, 17-3), and Baley Parrott scored three.
Shannon Mackesey had two goals and an assist for Guilderland (17-2), and Cara Quimby and Rebecca Golderman each scored two. The Lady Dutch, with a No. 14 state rankings, saw their 10-game winning streak halted.
John Jay (Section I, 15-4-1) went on a 13-4 second-half run and eliminated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 19-14, in Class B action.
Sarah Lang paced John Jay with eight goals and and an assist. Nicole Beardsley scored six goals for BH-BL (12-7), Amy LeBel had three goals, and Christina Krowel notched two.
The Spartans led early, 5-1, at the break, 10-6, and 12-9 midway through the second half.
Putnam Valley (Section I, 18-3) got five goals from Melissa Wagner and ousted Albany Academy in the Class C game, 12-11.
Emma Malicki and Emma Hardy both had four goals and an assist for the Bears (17-3).
No Section II Class C team has ever gotten through the regionals. The last Section II Class B team to make it beyond the regionals was Niskayuna in 2008. Shaker claimed a Class A regional championship last season.
