Ellis Medical Group adds Dr. Jianyu Li
SCHENECTADY — Dr. Jianyu Li has joined the Ellis Medical Group, offering internal medicine for adults.
Dr. Li most recently served as a hospitalist at Ahuja and Richmond Medical Center in Cleveland.
She completed medical school at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in Guangzhou, China, and her internship and residency at New York Downtown Hospital in New York City. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Fagan joining Albany law firm
ALBANY — Law firm Whiteman Osterman & Hanna has named a new of counsel, M. Kathleen Fagan.
Fagan will join the firm’s health care practice group. For more than 15 years, her practice has focused on counseling health care providers, private physicians and other health care practitioners with respect to a full range of issues including contract development and negotiation, corporate and regulatory compliance, medical staff relationships, joint ventures, mental hygiene and guardianship matters, and policy development and training.
Fagan obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Desmond promotes one, adds another
ALBANY — The Desmond Hotel has promoted one of its own and welcomed another in recent months. Shawn Green was promoted to the new position of director of operations-food & beverage, in which he will continue to direct the banquets department and oversee the three restaurant outlets at the Albany hotel.
Green began his career with The Desmond in 2009 as banquet manager and was promoted to director of banquets two years later. Prior to joining the hotel, Green served as clubhouse manager at Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase and dining service manager at Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, Conn. He graduated from La Salle Institute in Troy and Western New England College.
The Desmond also welcomed Lindsay Pletch as banquet manager last month. Pletch graduated last year from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and worked at The Statler Hotel as a sales and catering manager through Cornell’s Student Leadership Development Program. After graduation, she worked as a catering manager for Aramark at James Madison University.
