An 83-year-old Middle Grove woman was killed Thursday when police said she ran a stop sign and hit a tractor-trailer on Route 67.
Eva Runkowski was driving north on Jockey Street in a 2012 Ford sedan about noon when she drove past the stop sign and into the intersection, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.
The tractor-trailer, which was driving west on Route 67, overturned, injuring the driver. The man, whose identity deputies were not releasing because they had not reached his family, was taken to Ellis Hospital, where his condition was not available.
The truck he was driving was based in Ottawa, Canada, deputies said.
Runkowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for about six hours while the Sheriff's Office's Accident Investigations Unit reconstructed the accident.
