State police say two Moreau residents were caught in the act today as they were breaking into storage lockers in the town of Queensbury.
Troopers said William G. Cassell, 33 and Vanessa L. Graham, 31, cut the locks off four lockers and stole their contents before they were seen and police were called. When state police investigators arrived, the two tried to flee, troopers said, but Graham was nabbed right away and Cassell was taken into custody a short distance away. Troopers said the stolen property was recovered at the scene.
Each was charged with four counts of third-degree burglary. They were arraigned in Queensbury Town Court, with Cassell sent to the Warren County jail without bail because of his previous criminal history and Graham released on her own recognizance.
Investigators said they are looking into similar incidents in the area to determine if Cassell and Graham may have been responsible for those, as well.
