Amsterdam police on Wednesday arrested David Rodriguez-Torres, 30, of 310 E. Main St., on a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Rodriguez-Torres also was charged with being a fugitive from justice.
Police said the arrest ended a month-long investigation into drug trafficking in the city. The probe utilized tips and complaints from local residents. Police said they found 240 glassine envelopes that contained heroin inside Rodriguez-Torres’ residence. They added the heroin had a street value of $4,000.
Police also said Rodriguez-Torres is wanted by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department in Pennsylvania for violating conditions of probation for a robbery arrest.
Rodriguez-Torres was arraigned and sent to Montgomery County Jail. No bail was set.
