A man who police say is homeless was charged Sunday after police said he left the scene of an accident while driving drunk in someone else’s vehicle.
Manuel Olmo, 44, is charged with second-degree vehicular assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies. He also is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving and menacing, misdemeanors.
Olmo was arrested around 5 p.m. City police said he got into an accident on Jefferson Street and left the scene. They found the vehicle a few blocks away on Cottage Street.
In November 2001, Olmo was accused of robbing a Fleet Bank on Ballston Avenue in Saratoga Springs. He pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and was sentenced to five years in state prison.
