A GE dredging crew discovered a body floating in the Hudson River in the area of Lock 7 on Friday afternoon.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department said dredgers contacted state police after discovering the body about 4:45 p.m., and troopers then alerted sheriff’s deputies. According to a sheriff’s dispatcher, the body has been tentatively identified, but that identity will not be released until an autopsy is completed Saturday morning at Saratoga Hospital.

Police have been searching for Renee Coxon of Fort Edward, who disappeared Wednesday morning.

The body was recovered by the South Glens Falls Fire Department’s dive team.
