The Nisky Co-op is a home away from home

The Niskayuna Co-op is not just a grocery store. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere the moment you walk in. Most of the clerks know your name and spend time with you.

It is convenient to get to [and has] a large parking lot. The aisles are wide, easy to get through to find what your need.

The meat department is well-known in the area. Always fresh with friendly clerks to help you. They offer a fantastic bakery, cakes, homemade pies, four-star muffins and fresh bagels daily. If you don’t find what you need, ask any friendly clerk.

I shop daily (not Sunday) and have made many friends. Hope to see you there.

Sch’dy needs more routine maintenance

I have noticed while driving around Schenectady there are many hidden stop signs. This is because tree limbs and leaves are covering the signs. I wonder if any of our elected city officials have noticed this. One stop sign is a block from the mayor’s home.

There was a story in the Gazette about water problems in the Stockade. The Upper Union Street area also has had water problems. During heavy rains, the corner of Brandywine Avenue and Union Street floods frequently. The manhole cover pops off and water flooding the area makes navigating the intersection very difficult. The city puts an orange cone there as a Band-Aid, at best.

If one drives on Lexington Avenue between The Plaza and Union Street after heavy rains, one would see many hoses coming out of houses to drain the water from their basements.
