AMSTERDAM — Dylan Smith drove in a league-record eight runs to power the Amsterdam Mohawks to a 13-3 victory over the Adirondack Trail Blazers in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League matchup Tuesday night at Shuttleworth Park.
The Mohawks, playing their regular-season home finale, won their 11th straight game to improve to 31-16.
Smith’s big night included a three-run homer, a two-run double and a three-run double.
The old league record was seven RBI by Erick Gaylord of the Watertown Wizards.

BLUE SLATE WINS TITLE
ALBANY — Tournament MVP Fred Estes went 3-for-4 with a triple, single and double for three RBI to spark Blue Slate over the Albany Athletics, 7-3, to capture the Albany Twilight League championship series.
Ryan Gauck had an RBI single in the fifth inning, and A.J. Ragone added an RBI double in the seventh for Blue Slate, which won its first ATL title. The Athletics had won the previous four championships in a row.
Dan Barbero ripped a two-run homer in the first inning, Jayson Sullivan went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Tim O’Connor doubled for the Athletics.

WATERTOWN — The Albany Dutchmen (25-21) continued their pursuit of the third and final playoff spot with a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League double header split at the Watertown Rams (28-19).
The Dutchmen shut out Watertown in the nightcap, 4-0, while the Rams took the first game by the same 4-0 margin.
Pitcher Jose Hernandez dominated the Watertown lineup in the second game. He went the full seven innings, scattering five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.
Zach Remillard hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give Albany the early lead. He also doubled and tripled.
HOLYOKE, Mass. — Kyle Bagnell (Oklahoma State) combined with Garett Hayward (Duke) for a five-hit shutout as the Saratoga Brigade blanked the Holyoke Blue Sox, 1-0, in a New England College Baseball League game at MacKenzie Stadium.

CLIFTON PARK — Ian Anderson, Kevin Huerter and Mike Spulnick combined on a one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts to carry the Clifton Park Knights to a 6-0 victory over Prince George’s, Md., in the 14U Babe Ruth Mid-Atlantic Regional at the Clifton Park Commons.
Matt Straney belted a two-run double, and Anderson added a triple and a run scored for the Knights, who take on Washington Township of Southern N.J. tonight at 5.

NISKAYUNA — Niskayuna’s 12U Cal Ripken team beat Nassau, 4-0, in the championship game of the All County Wood Bat tournament at Blatnick Park Monday night.
Winning pitcher Ricky Grugan combined with Christian Brown, Mike Ziegler, and Jack Lo Re on a no-hitter. Grugan also blasted a two-run home run in the fifth inning for Niskayuna. Andrei Cantoria added a run-scoring double in the same inning.
